What is Size It Up?
Size It Up is a daily size-guessing game made by Magnitudle. Each round puts a thing you know, like an apple, next to the silhouette of something else. You stretch or shrink the silhouette until it looks the right size, then lock it in and see how far off you were. Five rounds a day, and it's a lot harder than it sounds.
How to play Size It Up
- Look at the blue shape on the left. That's the reference, and it's drawn at its real size on the grid.
- Read the label under the grid. It says what the red silhouette is and whether you're setting its height or its length.
- Drag the little arrow handle on the red silhouette to make it bigger or smaller. If it needs to be huge, zoom out first with the − button.
- Press Lock In. The game shows your answer, the real size and how far off you were in percent.
- Press Next Round. There are 5 rounds, each worth up to 100 points, so 500 is a perfect game.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Drag the ↗ handle | Makes the red silhouette bigger or smaller |
| Zoom + / − buttons | Zoom the grid in or out, so huge or tiny things still fit |
| Lock In | Locks your guess and shows the real size |
| Next Round → | Moves on to the next comparison |
Tips
- Check the label first. "Adjust the length" and "adjust the height" give very different answers for the same thing.
- Read the name closely. The round we played was the world's heaviest pumpkin, not a normal one. Its real length was 2.04 m. Our first guess was 9 cm.
- Count in reference units. Ask yourself "how many apples long is it?", then drag until it looks like that many.
- Zoom out before you drag when the target is way bigger than the reference. It's easier to get the size right when both fit on screen.
- Done with today's five? Pop Culture and Geography have their own daily games, and the archive has past ones.
